American Basketball Association partnership with Passage Sports

DETROIT, MICHIGAN -- Passage Sports, a cutting-edge payments and customer engagement engine, and the American Basketball Association (ABA), America’s largest and most diversified professional sports league, announced today a new partnership which names Passage as the Official Ticketing Provider of the ABA.

“We’re thrilled to be partnering with the American Basketball Association,” said Alex Linebrink, CEO of Passage Sports. “The league has a long tradition of excellence in the sport of basketball, and has recently been fueling a renewed excitement for basketball fans nationwide. Our team is delighted to work with such an established brand, and to support their vision by providing fans an excellent gameday experience from the moment they buy their tickets until they leave the arena.”

The ABA currently has 151 teams spanning four regions across the U.S. The season runs from November through April.

As part of this partnership, Passage Sports is kicking off a custom ABA ticketing portal for all ABA teams. Fans will be able to find ticket sales to any ABA games on the new portal at events.realabaleague.com. Teams also have the ability to sell merchandise and concessions through the Passage Sports platform, both online and at the door on game day.

"We are very excited to partner with Passage Sports as our online ticketing platform," added ABA CEO Joe Newman. "We looked at a lot of companies and found Passage Sports to be the most fan friendly, easy to use system in the industry.  It will make getting tickets and merchandise more convenient than ever before.  It is long overdue.  Sharon Martin Blacknall, ABA VP of Administration put this program together and did an outstanding job."

The decision to partner with Passage came, in part, because of the unique set of features offered by Passage Sports, designed to help sports teams reach more fans and grow their revenue. Teams can take advantage of season ticketing, assigned seating, group sales, fan subscriptions, and even NFT digital collectibles to meet the needs and preferences of their fans.

“We see so many opportunities for growth and expansion on the horizon, and we're excited to be part of that,” said Linebrink. “Our goal is to simplify the ticketing process so ABA teams can focus on delivering a great fan experience on gameday.”

Tickets to ABA matches will be available for the upcoming fall season at events.realabaleague.com.
