Passage has always been one of the fastest in the business for scanning tickets and paying event organizers. But now we’re introducing a payments option that gives you unparalleled speed and flexibility: Instant Payouts. 

While our standard 2-business day processing remains a convenient option, Instant Payouts put you in the driver's seat, allowing you to access your ticket sale revenue instantly. They’re not just fast…they’re Instant.

How Do Instant Payouts Work?

Get paid on demand – it's that simple.

Instant Payouts allow you to transfer funds to an eligible bank account within minutes of a transaction for a fee of 2% of the payout amount. Funds will typically appear in your account within 30 minutes.

The easiest way to access Instant Payouts from your admin area is:

1. Click on the “Reports” menu and select “Deposits”
2. You’ll see an Instant Payouts box at the top of your screen with your available balance
3. Enter the amount you’d like to payout and click “Payout Now”

Any funds not accessed through Instant Payouts continue to be paid out according to your default payout schedule at no additional cost.

Who is Eligible for Instant Payouts?

This feature is currently only available for US accounts that have a track record of successful deposits. Right now, only bank accounts are supported for Instant Payouts (debit cards are coming soon!) The Payout Account must also support Instant Payouts.

When Should I Use Instant Payouts?

The short answer is: anytime you like! Instant Payouts are available any time you want to access your funds immediately. 

While normal daily deposits will still work for most event organizers in most situations, there may be times when you need your funds a little bit faster. Here's a list of situations where using Instant Payouts could be beneficial:

• Last-Minute Expenses: You have unexpected costs related to your event that need immediate funding (e.g., emergency repairs, additional supplies).
• Urgent Marketing Opportunities: A time-sensitive opportunity arises to boost ticket sales, and you need funds quickly for advertising or promotion.
• Cash Flow Management: You need immediate access to funds to cover operational costs or other business expenses without disrupting your regular cash flow.
• Reinvesting Quickly: You want to immediately reinvest a portion of your ticket sales into securing talent, venues, or other resources for future events.
• Avoiding Overdraft Fees: You need a small influx of cash quickly to avoid potential overdraft fees on your bank account.
• Weekend or Holiday Needs: Your standard payout might fall on a weekend or holiday, and you need access to funds sooner.
• Small Event Organizers: For smaller events with tighter margins, immediate access to funds after a successful sales period can be crucial.
• Testing Marketing Campaigns: You want to quickly assess the success of a marketing push and need immediate funds to scale or adjust your strategy.
• Covering Per-Event Staff or Vendor Payments: You need to pay staff or vendors immediately or pay a venue deposit.

Using Instant Payouts is entirely optional. Your regularly scheduled daily, weekly, or monthly automated deposits will continue to work as normal. Instant Payouts simply offer you a faster option if you ever need it.

What is the Maximum Instant Payout?

The maximum amount available to payout out will be equal to your account balance minus the 2% fee. You can manually enter any dollar amount up to the available amount to pay out, then click the Payout Now button to submit your instant payout. The 2% fee will be applied in addition to the dollar amount entered. 

For example:

• If you payout the full amount available, the additional 2% fee will reduce your account balance to $0.
• If you do a partial payout of $100, a $2 fee is added, and your account balance will be reduced by $102.

How Can I Find Instant Payouts in My Reports?

Instant payouts can be sent from your deposits report, which you can access by clicking on "Payout Balance $XX.XX" in the top banner of your admin area, or opening the Reports dropdown and selecting Deposits. The Instant Payouts box is found just below the Deposits header.
